Epreuve 7: Le poids prend de la hauteur

Et 1, et 2, et 3… Plus loin. Plus haut. Plus fort : le poids aux jeux de force écossais se lance en longueur, mais aussi en hauteur. Il s’agit, comme au saut à la perche, de lui faire franchir une barre qui s’élève de plus en plus haut pour atteindre...

Light weight for distance

Epreuve 6 : le lancer du poids léger

Ce n’est pas parce qu’ils lancent des poids légers qu’il faut affirmer à la légère que les athlètes balancent des petits pois. Même s’ils sont écossais ! Le poids lourd, c’était pour le hors d’œuvre du samedi. Le petit poids était au menu du dimanche...

Epreuve 5 : Lancer de marteau léger

Epreuve 4 : le lancer de pierre lourde

Le samedi, les athlètes ont, selon la tradition, commencé par le lancer de la pierre légère. Le vainqueur, Gregor Edmunds, l’a propulsée à plus de 14.80 mètres. Il est vrai qu’elle ne pesait « que »16 livres, soit 7.260 kilos. Les épreuves du dimanche...
