Telethon in Bressuire, France: 128 cabers tossed for a good cause
Yellow was the colour in France last Saturday.
Of course, most people immediately think about the "yellow vests" demonstrating all over France.

But the volunteers of AFM Telethon wearing "yellow scarfs" also did their best to collect about 69 million euros for a generous cause: the fight against myopathy.
And most cities or villages in France organised activities to collect funds. That was the case in Bressuire where Highland Games, France staged a caber-toss at the castle where Highland Games take place every other year.
A solidarity marathon
From 20 p.m.on Friday to midnight on Saturday, it was a non-stop show on TV with personalities, singers, testimonials like interviews with people suffering from a neuromuscular disease or scientists talking about medical advances.
And there are initiatives everywhere in France with about 20.000 events organized everywhere in France to collect money.
The caber-tossing staged in Bressuire was one of the numerous festive moments offered to participants and spectators.

Many viewers in France had the opportunity to hear about our Highland Games and to learn that the IHGF amateur World Championship will take place in Bressuire on June 15 and 16, 2019.
But the most important purpose of the Telethon in France is to collect donations for medical research.
In Bressuire, each caber-tosser had to give two euros for the Telethon.
In spite of the rain, 128 cabers were tossed by our local throwers and spectators.
With this sports show in Bressuire and many other festive events all over France, about 69 million euros were raised for the 2019 Telethon..
It was a real pleasure for Highland Games France to encourage this solidarity with the AFM, the French Association against Myopathy.
