Piping in Bressuire: WATT's up? A World Champion for the Games
You know Watt?
One of the most prestigious solo pipers of the world, Robert WATT from Northern Ireland, will play during the Bressuire Highland Games for the IHGF European Championships.
That's a real privilege for the Bressuire Highland Games to welcome such a piper.
Just have a look at his biography
"Robert, from Maghera in Northern Ireland, began to play his first instrument, the great highland bagpipe at the age of seven in his local pipe band, Tamlaght O'Crilly.
He was involved in competing and public performance from the beginning as the band progressed through the competition grades winning most of the prizes available on the way including several Ulster and All-Ireland titles and the World Championships. In 1998 he joined the world famous Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band and spent three years there performing and competing at the highest level at the top of grade one. It was around this time that Robert took a keen interest in solo performing and competition and he is now regarded as one of the world's leading solo"
And now, just watch this video recorded in Glasgow five years ago.

It's obvious piping will be essential in Bressuire.
And for the 2017 Games, the castle will also host a piping competition.
And Robert WATT, of course, will also be involved in the judging of the best pipe-band of the week-end.
The competitors are among the best pipe-bands in France and they come from all over the country: Piperade South West Pipers, Askoll ha Brug, 51st Highland Regiment, Paris and District, Aquitaine Highlanders Pipe Band and maybe some others.
And the massed bands will be impressive once more. (Photo for the Worlds in Bressuire in 2015: Patrick Ballargeau)
No doubt the pipers will do their best to convince Robert WATT.
They'll certainly need very good whisky in their pipes and lovely gals in their bags...
