Bressuire: The year of the Worlds, the year of the Light

Michel SEMENIAKO is a photographer.

And he is the one Bressuire has chosen to illustrate "The year of the light"

And, of course, it's a real pleasure for the blogger to offer you different views of the Church, the Townhall and the Castle in Bressuire-the-Scot.

For the Highland Games, the city-center looked like that with pipe-bands parading in front of the church.

That's quite different from what you can see in Michel SEMENIAKO's exhibition in la Chapelle Saint-Cyprien, Bressuire's oldest monument.

Notre-Dame Square with the church in the background just looks like that...

And, that's just the same with the Townhall.

That was the perfect place for the IHGF World Championship throwers to be photographed with Jean-Michel BERNIER, the Bressuire Mayor.

But, for at the painter's exhibition, the throwers have been replaced by dancers and the townhall looks very different.

But the "new" Bressuire doesn't only mean the town-center.

Just have a look at the château!

The pipe-bands are playing in a background which has become familiar to all the Highland Games fans in France...The view is quite different thanks to Michel Semeniako.

And we could easily imagine that the Bressuire setting is haunted, just like most castles in Scotland according to legend!

Hallucinating, isn't it?

Even the traditionnal photos of caber-tossers, hammer-throwers or stone-putters must be seen differently.

When French Bocker Cedric PICARD throws in the country, it just looks like that...

Ang local cows do enjoy the show!

Michel Semeniako also appreciates shooting cows in the fields around Bressuire.

But their look is quite different.

And it's seems to be so frightening for throwers that they have all vanished...

I'm not sure the champions and the visitors who came to Bressuire for the IHGF Worlds on June 13, 14 will have the opportunity to visit this exhibition at the Chapelle Saint-Cyprien.

But I know they will enjoy these colourful sights about Bressuire.
