Do you know why last Saturday night was a special one in France? Time was ripe for "l'heure d'été", summer-time. So, we had to hurry up and move our clocks an hour forward. C'est toujours instructif de lire Ironmind, le site international des lanceurs de Highland Games. La preuve! There is no doubt about it:  Dan McKIM is definitely the thrower of the year.Everybody remembers he became the 2015 IHGF World champion in Bressuire after the final event, weight for height, and a winner at 5.10m under the pouring rain. His title ha been the conclusion of a splendid competition with Matt VINCENT and a last-minute victory after the final event. In spite of this fantastic document by Patrick BALLARGEAU, Lucasz WENTA didn't win the caber-tossing world title in Bressuire. The 2015 World champion far caber-tossing is Scott RIDER, just like Dan Mc KIM is the 2015 overall IHGF World Champion.His achievement on Saturday's fourth event was exceptionnal. Without winning a single event, the American Matt VINCENT is leading the IHGF Worlds in Bressuire. He has got his 12 points after finishing second at the open stone and at the heavy weight. He finished third at the hammer and fifth at the caber Dan Mac KIM is second with 14 points after the first day of competition and Scott RIDER is third with 15 points. His first name is quite a paradox. RIDER is Scott but he is also English. And, according to his passion for the Highland Games, we can imagine he comes from Scot(t)land! Scott RIDER, le champion anglais, est un des chouchoux du public bressuirais.Pas étonnant puisqu'il est un habitué des lieux!La preuve! Il a défendu les couleurs anglaises au château en 2010 en terminant second derrière Sean BETZ et en emportant au passage le titre mondial au lancer de pierres.
