Bressuire-the Scot: with a moo-moo here for our Highland games
With a moo-moo here...
In spite of the castle and in spite of the Highlands cows, we are not in Scotland.
Here a moo, there a moo, everywhere a moo...
We are in Bressuire, France, a city which has become quite popular in the Celtic World thanks to its Highland cows grazing in front of the olc castle which is the showcase of our famous Highland Games.
A World Championship on June 15 ans 16
Here a mooh
And this scene is quite a symbol of our French city which has become Bressuire-the-Scot.
Thanks to their twinning with Fraserborough in Scotland, we host Highland Games every other year. In 2019, Bressuire will be the venue for the IHGF amateur World Championship on June 15 and 16
And the line-up is very promising with some of the best High-flyers of these Games with champions from all over the world.
The line-up
Svavar SIGURSTEINSSON, Iceland
Jamie GUNN, Scotland
Glenn NYS, Belgium
Tibor KISS, Hungary
Simon BRUGER, Switzerland
Joe POCOK, Canada
Cory SUMMERS, USA
Fabien PATHENEY, France
Stefan SOLITSCH, Germany
Johan LONGHURST, Netherlands

International Games
Just like in 2015 for the IHGF Professionnal Worlds, many countries will be representated and Bressuire will be an international city during a whole week-end.
An exceptionnal showcase
As usual, the 12 throwers will have eight competitions to show their vista and their strenght: light and heavy hammer, light stone and Braemar stone, light and heavy weight for length, weight over bar and, of course, the traditionnal caber-toss.
And it can be very spectacular ( a photo by Thierry TURC)
This fantastic show is completed by celtic danses, concerts, photo-shows and pipe-bands...with tis yeat, eight pipe-band and the famous Lann Bihoué bagad
So note June 15 and 16 on your agendas
Ready ! Steady, Throw!
Happy New Year!
Come and enjoy our Highland Games in the old castle
