IMG_20180124_153952-And, on January 25, Robert Burns is never forgotten.

Last Saturday, about 100 people gathered to celebrate the Scottish poet and to listen to his famous "ode to the haggis".

DSCN3506Jean-Louis COPPET, the creator of the Bressuire Highland Games, and Gavin ANDERSON, our piper, even paid a tribute to Robert Burns and gave a French version of this "Ode to the haggis"

A trancher tes entrailles, à poignarder ton flanc

Fièrement pour nous offrir pitance

Hume avec délices

Cet ample fumet chaud et délicieux

Et vous Dieux qui veillez sur nous

Et garnissez nos tables

En cette bonne vieille terre d'Ecosse

Qu'honore notre Vieille Alliance

Nenni de ces mets sans sel

Servis sans art dans nos écuelles

Si hommage aujourd'hui vous devez recevoir

Offrez nous en grâce ce HAGGIS.

And, of course, everybody enjoyed this Ode to the Haggis

It was as good as an old song by the Rolling Stones.

No wonder it gave everybody haggisfaction...(and I try, and I try...)
