Pipebands: Rugby in Paris, Highland Games in Bressuire
The Paris & District Pipe Band (photo) will form a mass band with 51st Highland Division Memorial to play the Scottish anthem before the international rugby match between France and Scotland in le stade de France.
But after the Grand Stade in Saint-Denis this Sunday for the 6 nations, the two pipebands are also programmed for the IHGF Highland Games European Pro Championships in Bressuire.
Jacques Dransard, the French drum major and bagpipe-player in charge of pipebands in Bressuire and Laurent BATTUT, the president of Paris and District Pipebands have confirmed that these two bands should be in Bressuire for the Games on June 10 and 11.
If everything is OK, they will have the privilege to play in the majectic castle in front of thousands of spectators.
So, after playing "Flower of Scotland" for French and Scottish rugby players, they should play this anthem and many others in Bressuire.
And no doubt the Highland Games fans will be delighted because they know there are no good Highland Games without good pipers!
And playing in Paris before the kick-off of an international competition is quite a reference!
So we keep our fingers crossed to see Paris & District and the 51st Highland Division march in Bressuire for the IHGF European Championships!
Just wait and see!
