Bressuire: a former "Yellow Jersey" throws the hammer
Laurent JALABERT is quite a star in the cycling world.
At 46,the former "Yellow Jersey" of the Tour de France is still one of the most popular French champions of the last 25 years.
Last Saturday, he came to Bressuire for "Sports and Businesses", a promotional campaign where the Highland Games were associated.
Of course, he answered brilliantly the blogger's loony questions and then he accepted to throw the hammer.
After listening to the local Bockers' advice, he managed to throw the light hammer and proved that he had all the qualities for this sport.
Cycling, marathon, Ironman
This former champion really knows what sport is about.
After his cycling career, he decided to become a marathon runner and he ran the 42 kms in less than three hours.
Then he tried his skills in a new sport: triathlon.
And you know what?
JALABERT finished the Hawaï Ironman in just a little more than 9 hours.
No wonder his hammer-throw in Bressuire was so spectacular!
And don't forget the World Championship in Bressuire, France on June 13 and 14 with the crème de la crème of the professionnal throwers.
