2007: Way down Memory Lane
The Highland Games blog is a splendid idea
But a blog without sound is somewhat lacking in cheer.
Fear not! for a solution has now been found
With a photomontage of Bressuire Castle grounds.
The photos take us way down Memory Lane
While we wait for the Games to come round again.
Athletes and musicians from Games of yore –
Nostalgia is guaranteed, that’s for sure!
The sound track goes back to 2007
When sweet strains of singing rose to heaven:
Emmanuel Boulanger’s Bressuire choir
Opened the Games, some notes low, some higher.
Flowers of Scotland was the song they chose
A most traditional air as everyone knows.
And our resident piper Jacques Dransard
Made the bagpipes resound both near and afar.
